Reading Your Tire Sizes

You should always know the size of your tires. Believe it or not, the answer has been on your tires the entire time. On the sidewall of your tires are letters and numbers with slashes to tell you everything you need to know. Following the "P" for passenger vehicles is a three-digit number that identifies the width of the tire, measured out in millimeters. After the slash is two numbers telling you the aspect ratio. Then there is an "R" for radial construction and the next two numbers is the diameter of the wheel, measured out in inches.

Knowing your tire size is important. When you need to know more about your tire size or how to order new tires, you can call our service department at West Herr Chrysler Jeep in Orchard Park, NY.
